PatasPatas Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PatasPatas collects, uses, shares, and protects information for adopters, shelters, rescues, and visitors. This operational draft describes the current service and should be reviewed as the service changes.
1. Information we collect
We collect account information used to sign you in, such as your Google account identity, name, email address, session data, and authentication records.
When you create or complete an adopter profile, we collect the information you provide, including your name, phone number, email, coarse location, housing details, adult attestation, introduction, household details, and optional profile showcase fields.
We collect service activity such as searches, profile updates, pet views, likes, withdrawals, matches, account deletion requests, support requests, and security or diagnostic information needed to operate the service.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide accounts, profiles, pet discovery, shelter profiles, adoption introductions, matches, support, moderation, security, fraud prevention, and service maintenance.
We use coarse location and search preferences to help show relevant pets and shelters. Private search preferences are used for your own experience and are not part of the adopter profile shown to shelters.
We may use submitted content, such as profile text and shelter or pet photos, to host, resize, display, translate, and maintain the service.
3. How adopter profiles are shared
PatasPatas is a matchmaking layer, not an adoption agency. A like is a signal of interest in a specific pet, not an adoption application or commitment to adopt.
When you like a pet, your live adopter profile and contact information are shared with the shelter or rescue responsible for that pet so they can evaluate and contact you off platform.
Your adopter profile is not a public directory. Shelters can see it only through adoption-interest workflows connected to their own pets.
When you withdraw a like by un-liking a pet, PatasPatas deletes that interest record and stops that per-pet profile-sharing path. Account deletion removes your account-related profile and interest records according to the service design and applicable law.
4. Information from shelters and rescues
Shelters and rescues provide organization, listing, pet, adoption-process, location, contact, media, and verification information. Public listing and shelter-profile content may be visible to visitors and adopters.
Some shelter information is used for review, verification, safety, support, controlled changes, and platform integrity. Veterinary or reference contact information is used for verification and is not shown as public listing content.
5. Cookies and similar technology
We use first-party cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, remember language or interface preferences, protect sessions, and operate the app.
We do not currently describe an advertising cookie program, sale of personal information, or third-party ad tracking in this policy. If that changes, we will update this policy.
6. Service providers and legal disclosures
We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, store, monitor, or support PatasPatas, including infrastructure and authentication providers.
We may disclose information when needed to comply with law, protect users, pets, shelters, our service, or others, investigate misuse, enforce our terms, or respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal information as part of the current PatasPatas service.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide PatasPatas, maintain records, support safety and verification workflows, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and improve platform integrity.
You can update your adopter profile in the app. You can withdraw a like from a pet to stop the related per-pet profile sharing.
You can request support or account deletion through the app or by contacting contact@pataspatas.com. Some information may remain if needed for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect accounts, sessions, profile data, and service records. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.
You are responsible for keeping your Google account and device secure and for contacting us if you believe your PatasPatas account has been misused.
9. Children and age
PatasPatas is intended for people who can lawfully participate in adoption conversations. Adopters must complete an adult attestation before liking pets.
If you believe a minor has submitted personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review the account.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, law, or our practices change. The updated date will show when this policy was last revised.
Questions, support requests, privacy requests, or deletion requests can be sent to contact@pataspatas.com.
